Here’s an interesting thing I learned… babies LOVE to destroy clothes! Whether it’s blueberries or, um, poop, no article of clothing is safe.

Luckily, baby clothes are pretty reasonably priced, and truthfully, babies live in lounge wear for the first 6 months of their life :). Here’s what I recommend as a starting point for outfitting your baby naturally…

American Apparel Infant Baby Rib Hat
2-4 good stretchy hats

Keeping a hat on a newborn is like trying to keep a bowtie on a chimpanzee. Our best hats came from the hospital (so grab as many as you can.) When baby is 3+ months, try these options.

Soft, cozy pants with elastic waistbands are best with footies to if fall/winter baby.

Organic Footie Pajamas
5-7 onesie pajamas

Since babies spend their first 3 months either napping, waking up from a nap, or being rocked back down, you'll want lots of PJs. Get a mix of types for different occasions.

Luvable Friends 3 Long Sleeve Bodysuits
4-6 shirts

These are great on top of the onesie undershirts. Snap crotch is best since it's a snugger fit.

Trumpette Mary Jane Box Set
4-6 pairs socks

Forget about losing these in the washer/dryer, baby socks get lost while they're wearing them! But, miraculously, these cute ones stay on.

SmartBottoms cloth diapers
24 cloth diapers

After much trial and error, we now use a mix of SmartBottoms, AppleCheeks, and bumGenius diapers. We purchased 24, which was the perfect number since we do wash every 3 days. (Any longer and you risk moldy diapers.)

Bambo Nature Diapers
One package of disposable diapers

Have these on hand for the early days when baby is eliminating meconium or for travelling long distances.

P.S. Wondering where to register for your baby shower?

This is the big question. Do you register for your baby at Target? Walmart? Local boutiques?

I'm kind of an Amazon junkie. (Once you experience traditional store visits with a toddler, you'll see why :) ) And Amazon has a great baby registry service. They even let you add products from other websites. You can check out Amazon's baby registry right here.

The best reason to register with Amazon is that most people already have an account, which makes it easy on your friends and family.

And no matter where you register, I wish you a fantastic pregnancy, a really fun baby shower, and a smooth, natural, healthy delivery!
