This is her Soul Shine Juice, 5-6 pink lady apples/or Honey Crisp, 5-6 Stalks of Celery, 1 Cucumber, Juice of 3 Lemons, Head of Kale, Head of Romaine lettace. blend and strain.

Don’t have an exact recipe but I love smoothies!

  32. Alicia April 6 at 9:55 pm

    My Favorite Smoothie Recipe:

    Strawberry-Banana “Smoothie”:

-One to two bananas chunked up and frozen
-One to two cups of chopped strawberries (frozen or unfrozen but *cold*)
    -A couple splashes of milk

Sometimes I let the frozen bananas thaw a little bit depending on my mood. If I want more a more “soft serve/ice cream-like” consistency, I just toss them in with a couple splashes of milk and blend them until smooth and creamy. If I want a more liquidy drink, I let them thaw a little and use fewer to no splashes of milk. Throw the strawberries and bananas together, blend them up, and you got yourself a drink! It’s plain and ordinary, but simplicity is best sometimes!

  46. Vanessa April 6 at 3:53 pm

I just started making smoothies to get me through the intense hunger in the morning during my first pregnancy! I make a whole caraf full then store in mason jars in the fridge for when I need (lasts for up to a few days for me :) I use all organic fresh, frozen, and/or local ingredients.

3/4 – 1 cup soaked and peeled almonds (or half cup almond butter)
2 cups whole milk yogurt (I like maple hill creamery grassed or Strauss Greek, homemade is great too)
    1/2 package frozen strawberries (5oz) and/or blueberries
    1/2 package frozen mango and/or peaches (5oz)
2 small or 1 large fresh or frozen banana
1/8-1/4 cup freshly ground flax seeds (I use our coffee grinder and prepare about half a cup at a time and save the rest in the fridge for next smoothie)
A big tsp vanilla extract or the seeds of one vanilla bean and a dash of extract
1 cup raw whole milk or more to desired thickness (if no raw available grassed and/or non-homogenized whole milk is good too)

Thank you Genevive for this contest :) I am inspired by many of the recipes!! Thanks mommas for sharing your recipes!

  77. Tracy April 5 at 5:42 pm

Mom’s famous CHOCOLATE smoothie – KID APPROVED on my 11, 8 and 2 year olds…even husband approved :)
Note….I used to use a “healthy” protein powder and then I realized that I didn’t have to continue being duped by the food industry I could make a better for me and better tasting smoothie by swapping a few ingredients.

    1/4 cup cocoa powder (raw)
    1 frozen banana
1/4 cup steel cut oats (raw)
    1/2 cup frozen blueberries
2 pieces dark chocolate 70% or more
2 tbsp natural peanut butter (or other nut butter)
1-2tbsp (or a small handful if you hate measuring as much as I do) each of hemp seeds, chia seeds, blanched almonds
1-2 raw pastured egg/s (yep this is a protein shake & meal all in one–don’t fear the raw egg)
1 tsp or to taste of either stevia (truvia), 100% pure maple syrup or raw honey
    1/2 cup ice
about a cup of 3.25% organic or raw milk or any other “milk” substitute I use about 3/4 cup for a thick smoothie…you may want to add more or less depending if you want an ice cream texture or a juice like texture.

blend it all together until smooth….yummy – makes enough for 2+ people as a meal or one if your are super hungry and want to hoard it all for yourself because it tastes so good…I have been guilty of this on several occasions LOL

optional ingredients …. as I make this all the time and spice it up sometimes:
    1/2 a ripe avocado
    couple shakes of cinnamon
frozen pineapple or mixed frozen berries instead of just blueberries
pumpkin seeds instead of or in addition to the almonds .. I have also used walnuts or pecans
you can even sneak some tumeric in as it doesn’t noticeably change the taste

    Hope you enjoy!

  78. Selina April 5 at 5:24 pm

My favorite smoothie is a healthier version of Ben and Jerry’s chunky monkey.

On occasion we toss some dry roasted unsalted almonds in there too. Sweeten with stevia or agave. My whole family has that for breakfast every so often and my 2 year old son LOOOOOVES it!

Every summer, I visit my grandmother in Mexico. The first thing I ask for upon arrival is her killer smoothie! They call it “Quintana Roo” and it is amazing- especially on a hot, summer day!

For a party in your mouth:
    2 Cups Unsweetened Coconut Milk
1 Cup Fresh or Frozen Mango
    1/2 Avocado
    Juice of 1 Lime
    Couple sprigs of Fresh Cilantro
    (ice if using fresh mango)

Oh! And a bonus- avocado is great for strong nails and mango is great for skin! Woohoo!

If chosen, I would love, love, LOVE the Blendtec in Champagne Metallic!

  294. Helen Garvey April 2 at 9:25 am

I find that I like something super-zingy in the mornings, and I was gettin a lot of deliciously sweet, but not too crisp, apples in my fruit and veg box each week. So I started making this and taking it to work.

3 apples, peeled, cored and chopped
250ml pressed (not from concentrate) apple juice
    Juice of 1 lime
    Frozen spinach

I just chuck it all in the blender and get it going. I sometimes have to blend, then leave for a bit for the spinach to thaw, then blend again as I just have a basic blender. I use frozen spinach as it’s so much easier. It’s just my husband and I and we struggle to get through big bags of spinach, also we both work so can’t get to the market as much as we’d like. It’s sweet and tangy and a beautiful shade of green, gets you eating greens first thing without any worries. I imagine if you had a blendtec you wouldn’t have to peel the apples or thaw the spinach which would be amazing and so much quicker (it already only takes about 5 minutes).

I don’t actually have a recipe, because I don’t own a blender! I recently started looking into them though, because I want to start making my own so winning this blender would be perfect! For now, I drink the Bolthouse Farms smoothies and juices. My favorite is strawberry banana.

  308. Stefani April 2 at 1:27 am

I grew up not liking smoothies, but I think a strawberry one sounds yummy! :)

  309. Krissy April 2 at 1:03 am

My favorite smoothie is orange juice, frozen pineapple, a frozen banana, and a handful of greens (usually spinach or baby kale). Amounts vary – I just eyeball everything – and pour the leftovers in to freezer pop molds for my 4 year old to enjoy as a treat. Sweet, green, frosty, and delicious!

  310. Amie April 2 at 12:55 am

We eat smoothies every day and are traditionalists .:)

We use some fruit/veggie juice and then stuff spinach to the top followed with a banana or two and four ice cubes. Blend well and is VERY bright green! I then add a couple handfuls of strawberries , half cup or so of blueberries and then some pineapple, mango or peach slices. Add a bit of water or almond milk and it is delicious!!

Thanks for such great and informative videos … God bless you!

    Dear Genevieve,

My smoothie is a powerful healing beverage,it helps with many different disease such as cancer and chronic conditions, but is great also for health people that want to stay this way.It is Gerson therapy drink(i recommend you to look for more about this therapy you gonna love it,health life style). Here the recipe:

Dark green lettuces – ¼ to ½ of a head (depending on the size of the lettuce): red and green leaf
    lettuces, romaine, endives.
Iceberg is useless and do not use
    Escarole – 2 or 3 leaves
Beet tops (young inner leaves) – 2 to 3 leaves
    Watercress – 5 or 6 leaves
    Red cabbage – 2 or 3 leaves
    Green bell pepper – ¼
    Swiss chard – little
    Green apple – 1

Greens should be washed taking care to rinse off sand or soil that is often present at the base of the
leaves. Shake off water or put in salad spinner to remove excess moisture. Cut off bottom portion of stems of
chard or any other fibrous leaves. Chop up because it is quite stringy and hard to pulp. This avoids raising temperature and killing enzymes.
The green juice should be consumed immediately. Dr. Gerson did not recommend storage of the green juice for any length of time before consumption as it deteriorates rapidly.

  314. Cathy April 1 at 11:32 pm

    A grape/basil smoothie – SO good.

    2 C green grapes

    1 C plain yogurt

  315. Sarah April 1 at 11:31 pm

    PB&J smoothie

    10 oz coconut milk
1 Tbs almond or peanut butter
1-2 dates, pitted or 1 tsp honey
    1 Tbs grass fed gelatin
1/2 – 3/4 cup pineapple (less if frozen)
1/4-1/2 cup strawberries (less if frozen)
    1/4 cup raspberries/blueberries, optional
    1/4-1/2 fresh banana
    big handful of spinach
Ice, optional – add if using all fresh fruit

Add in this order to blender: milk, dates, nut butter, gelatin, spinach, banana, optional ice, strawberries, pineapple. Blend…tastes just like a peanut/almond butter and jelly sandwich.

Variations: add 1 Tbs cacao powder for a chocolaty treat

That’s about all my current blender can handle and I have to make sure to use plenty of liquid. I would love to be able to do more with a more powerful blender! Thanks. :)

    Beans and Greens Smoothie

black soy beans (1/2 cup cooked or from can)
mixed greens usually a combination of kale, dandelion, beet greens, alittle arugula, stems and all (2 cups)
    nonfat greek yogurt (1 cup)
frozen banana (2 ounces or so)
    frozen strawberries (1 cup)
frozen cherries (2 ounces or so)
vanilla extract (1 teas or so)
    optiber/benefiber (1 serving, usually 3 grams)
almond milk, unsweetened (about 1/2 cup)
stevia (3 or so individual packets)
ez sweet (5 or so drops, this is a liquid splenda product)

created this smoothie to aid in getting more greens into me. beans were added to help me feel fuller longer as most of the carbs in this bean are fiber and this is a high protein bean. the fruit and yogurt helps mask some of the taste of the greens. the sweeteners are sugar alternatives and help me keep my blood sugar in check. the optifiber helps with my digestive problems, feel free to omit if you don’t need it.

MY SMOOTHIE: Everything but the Kitchen Sink
This varies widely from week to week. Since I am a young, hip and healthy twenty something, I try to keep the most healthful and least expensive produce in my house at all times. Generally, it’s something like this!

1)A LOT of frozen berries. I buy bags of mixed blueberries, raspberries and blackberries from Costco as often as possible. Perfect for smoothies and pseudo desserts
2)A cucumber and a carrot of five. I ALWAYS have these in my house, and add extra carrots if I’m low on other produce.
3)Red delicious and/or pacific rose apples. My two favorite and sweetest apple picks
4)Whatever greens are in the house, but usually kale and spinach
5)Frozen bananas to round out the flavors.

If I’m lucky, I will have beets, chia seeds and tomatoes in the house, which I love with apples, cucumbers and berries. It changes every day! I’m an indecisive person!

I don’t usually measure but I like making passion fruit smoothies, I usually end up with a full blender. My recipe is not exactly healthy (but I don’t make it that often) but you can tweak it to your needs and use milks and sweetners of your choice.
    I use:
    1 tray of ice cubes
    a little bit of water
milk (about 2 cups I think)
passion fruit juice (about 1 cup or so?) (I buy the frozen concentrate kind)
sugar (I like putting sugar enough to sweeten, and that depends on how much juice I use since the juice is a little tart and like my smoothie on the sweeter rather than tart side).

My blender isn’t that strong so first I blend the ice and a little bit of water until its a somewhat thick slushy. Then I add the milk and frozen chunk of juice and blend a bit, then I add the sugar and blend. Then serve :)
Like I mentioned you can use whatever milk and sweetner you like.
Note: It will be more frothy/foamy than some smoothies because passion fruit juice will froth quite easily.

i make smothies frequently but I don’t fallow recipes.
    Usual basic
1/2 to 2/3 the blender frozen fruit mostly berries
2- 3 heaping spoonfulls orange juice concentrate ( I keep in door of freezer so it is frozen but still soft enough to just scoop out a little that way it lasts a while.
20 oz can pineapple not crushed it is two pulpy not enough liquid I use rings or chunks
    cap full of vanilla extract

if I have left over smothie I keep it in the blender in the fridge if I want some an hour or to later it will still be cold enough if not I will save it for the next day and use that as the liquid part of the smothie and just add more fresh berries

  457. Gail Marie King April 1 at 12:20 pm

Wow, lots of great ideas already posted!
One of my favorite flavors is Passionfruit, but I really am not a fan of the texture. But a smoothie solves all that!
    -1 whole fresh Passion fruit
    -One whole banana
-one cup of frozen berries of choice
    -two scoops of hemp protein
-one handful of fresh leafy greens of choice
-approximately two cups of liquid of choice (coconut water, fruit juice, almond milk, hemp milk, cashew milk are all great)
    Yum sooooo good!
And fyi, if you like your smoothies on the icy cold side, put your coconut water or other liquid of choice in ice cube trays and use a few of those along with just enough liquid to get the blender going.

  458. Ashley April 1 at 12:19 pm

    0,5 dl dry oatmeal
    Cover with almond or soymilk

    Yummy :)

I might not be leaving the most health beneficial smoothie recipe but it’s one I turn to every summer just for the taste.

Throw Strawberries, Raspberries, Almonds, Almond Milk and Ice together and it creates the fruitiest summer drink ever.

As Almond milk is pretty light, I just use the eye to see how much should go in, along with the ice to make sure it’s not too runny.

    Enjoy :) xx

  469. morgan p April 1 at 11:46 am

Our go-to is basic green juice. Our 2 yr old used to have horrible gastronology problems. Thanks to EO and a daily dose of green juice, she no longer needs medication! For our green juice, we really don’t keep to a recipe. It’s basically throwing in a handful of spinach and then whatever fruit and veggie we can find and sounds good. We love to mix pineapple in there, this time of year. Best of all, the hubby and kiddo get their greens without complaint. ;)

I make my smoothies from leftover/over-ripe fruits and veggies. You know when bananas start to get get to that mushy state when you don’t really want to eat them but there is nothing wrong with them? I chop them up and throw them in this gallon sized freezer bag I have in the freezer and then, whenever I am craving a smoothie, I throw whatever is in there into my food processor (I don’t have a regular blender) with some greens, strawberries or whatever else I think would be a good addition to whatever is already frozen and then, of course, some milk or lemon juice and end up with a yummy surprise! I haven’t one turn out poorly yet!

  533. Tatiana Tapia April 1 at 10:24 am

I haven’t tried many smoothies, but I once tried one that had, apples, oranges, ginger and water. It was really refreshing!

Ok…. So here is the deal. I have been diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). I have been blessed enough to find an AMAZING doctor who helped me naturally balance my hormones to get and preserve a pregnancy. Now I have a beautiful 8 mo. baby girl and am already trying for #2 because it took soo long to get #1 here. My doctor has recently recommended a grain-free lifestyle to help decrease my insulin resistance and hormonal imbalance. I have been blessed to find sites like yours and like the following that offer delicious and healthy options for me. I must say though that after trying this smoothie I realized that I NEED a new blender that can actually blend the ingredients! It was way too chunky and I want to be able to enjoy green smoothies!

    1½ cups water
2 cups greens (I used kale)
¼ cup herbs (parsley and cilantro both work great)
    2 ripe pears, cored
1 frozen banana (remove the peel, cut into 1-inch slices, and freeze in a plastic bag overnight)
    1 cup ice
    1 Tablespoon flax seeds (optional)
    Protein powder (optional)
    ¼ avocado (optional)

My husband’s been making amazing smoothies with frozen berries and whatever he can find on my natural foods shelf, including a little bit of green superfood juice powder (which you don’t even notice–I thought it would make the color gross, but dark berries cover it fine), chia seeds and hemp seeds.

  567. Alexis April 1 at 8:49 am

We smoothie by feel (no recipes!) and our go to is:

    1 banana
    Some yogurt
Some frozen fruit (usually strawberries or blueberries)
Some mix ins like whey powder for protein (we use Vital Whey from US Wellness Meats), probiotic powder, gelatin powder, chia seeds, ground flax seed, etc. Whatever we need at the time and have on hand.
Milk to loosen the smoothie if it is too thick.

We mostly make them for our 4 year old since they are a great way to sneak stuff into her diet!

  568. Ann April 1 at 8:06 am

My favorite smoothie recipe is a simple, strawberry banana smoothie. Take one cup of frozen strawberries, 1 medium banana, 1 cup of milk, a dash of cinnamon, a spoonful of honey, and blend!

  576. Gwen L March 31 at 9:48 pm

When I found out how unhealthy V8 Fruit and Veggie juice really was, I started making my own “blends” into smoothies. This one is my favorite!

1/2 cup carrot puree or juice
1/4 cup frozen strawberries or blueberries
    1/4 cup frozen mango
1/4 to 1/2 cup applesauce or 1/2 a peeled, cored apple
    1 peeled kiwi

Makes 2 smoothies. Usually I just drink one and make the rest into popsicles.
(If you add greens the color is kinda gross looking so I don’t.)

  577. Kristin March 31 at 9:09 pm

We call this Dragon juice at our house:

  605. Darla I March 31 at 2:54 pm

My very first real job was when I was 16 at a Jamba Juice. I weighed 110 lbs but the only shirt they had on hand was an XL. So, cloaked in my knee length, tucked in tunic and my super cool visor I fell in love with the art of smoothie making! My favorites were the all fruit smoothies.

The combinations are endless but I like to juice grapefruit, carrots and oranges, and then Blend it with frozen strawberries, blueberries, banana, and green powder or spinach.

I freeze any fruit that’s about to go bad. Especially bananas! They make the smoothie thick :)

Also a trick to pouring a great thick smoothie and not getting it all over your counter is to hold it over your cup with one hand and tap the blender cup with the other :)

  606. Rebecca March 31 at 2:45 pm

Plain yoghurt, frozen mango, frozen strawberries, frozen banana, frozen kale (I generally get a fresh bunch, chop it and freeze it for continued use), almond butter, water as needed, and maybe some coconut milk.

This is by far my favorite smoothie recipe! It taste just like a chocolate milkshake without all the junk. It takes a few minutes to make and it’s a great on – the – go meal replacement for those mornings you can’t fix a meal and it’s super filling. This definitely takes me to my happy place! :)

This is great timing, my blender just stopped working yesterday.
My family makes daily smoothies with homemade, raw-milk kefir.
    Our recent favorite is:
    16 oz kefir
    1 banana
    1/2 cup frozen peaches
    1/2 cup frozen cherries

  626. Ashley March 31 at 1:01 pm

I’m pretty basic with our smoothies. I use them as a way to get leafy greens into my toddler who still has a hard time chewing them in their whole form. Her/our smoothies generally consist of a handful each of strawberries and blueberries (or mixed frozen berries if that’s all I have) a handful of spinach or kale, a tbsp or so of ground flaxseed, a teaspoon or so of spirulina powder and water. Sometimes I’ll add a little honey or some grapes if it needs sweetening up.

I’ve also added plain yogurt, almond milk, prunes (when needed) and coconut water, but those aren’t part of the norm.

  627. Kim Denne March 31 at 12:50 pm

I start almost everyday with a smoothie! One of my favorites is 1 banana, 1 pear, 3 dates, 1 cup coconut milk, a dash of cinnamon, and a little honey. If you need to sneak in a few extra greens, a handful of spinach is good in here, too!

  628. Leanne March 31 at 12:47 pm

we keep it pretty simple – an apple, frozen strawberry and banana, and a little almond milk. delicious!

  629. Laura Jehlik March 31 at 12:44 pm

I have a Dairy Allergy that a blood test just found last year.
So I can’t have any milk or yougurt products in my smoothie.

    I prefer Almond Milk (unnsweetened)

Kale is very very hard to juice as it’s so fiberous that it’s just a waste. In a BlendTec it’s wonderful.

    1 Cup Almond Milk
    1 Bunch Kale
    1/2 Apple (cored, not peeled)
    1 Cucumber
    2 stalks Celery
    1/4 cup parsley
    if you have on hand:
    Small bunch of Beet Greens

  630. Christy March 31 at 12:19 pm

I don’t currently have a blender so I don’t make smoothies, but I really want to start. Smoothies seem like such a good way to get vitamins and healthy yumminess.

  631. Michelle March 31 at 12:18 pm

    My favorite right now:
    A few handfuls of spinach
    Flaxseed or chia seeds
    Frozen banana
A scoop of nut butter (or Nutella if I’m feeling naughty)
    Almond or coconut milk
Sometimes a bit of cocoa powder

It’s so delicious, but my blender is having such a hard time with it lately! I hope I win this one! :)

  632. Maya W March 31 at 12:11 pm

We throw in whatever we have on hand but usually some combo of raw milk or local apple cider, plain yogurt, carrots/beets, kale/greens, avocado, banana, frozen fruit.

Frothy berry banana chia seed smoothie!

    1/2 cup whipping cream
    1-2 tbsp plain yogurt

The whipping cream is what makes it frothy!

Almond milk, banana, ice and a spoonful of almond butter or cashew butter! YUM! If you want it sweeter add a spash of maple syrup.

  647. katie trudeau March 31 at 11:36 am

    One of my favorites:

*Frozen mixed berries (I used Sam’s Club)
*Roasted, salted peanut butter (adjust amount depending on how much pb taste you prefer…I use a local brand from a co-op)
*Whole milk (adjust amount… the more pb you used, the more milk you will need)
    *touch of cinnamon

This is delicious, protein-packed and super delicious.

  648. Heather March 31 at 11:36 am

First I juice spinach, cucumber, celery, carrots and beets. I add pom juice and the fresh juice I juiced to my blender. I add frozen blend of no sugar added, organic fruit which is pineapple, mango, papaya and strawberries. Blend and delish!!

  649. Jessica March 31 at 11:33 am

My go to smoothie: 1 banana, 1 cup mixed berries (blueberries, strawberries), 1 cup almond milk, 1 tsp coconut oil, 1 tsp maple syrup. I sometimes add 1 tbs of soaked chia seeds, but I am not always a fan of the texture.

  650. lace March 31 at 11:31 am

    Greek yogurt, blueberries, strawberries, mango.

  651. Jen V. March 31 at 11:26 am

The easiest recipe and what got us started on smoothies–half a head of romaine and 3 bananas! Don’t be fooled by the green color. It is delicious and you cannot taste the greens. We now just throw whatever we have into the blender.

  652. lisa March 31 at 11:23 am

Blueberries, banana, peanut butter, kale, flax seeds, vanilla, cinnamon, egg yolk, kefir, and milk. Sooo good!

  654. Tara March 31 at 11:20 am

I love to make peach “Julius” which is almond milk, frozen peaches (we freeze our own from very ripe and sweet local peaches) vanilla, pinch of salt, spoonful of organic orange juice concentrate a few drops of stevia or other natural sweetener and some ice cubes.

We also make extra big smoothies and use the leftover to keep our popsicle molds filled with yummy stuff.

A tip I learned from a local farmer here is to freeze some of your favorite heirloom/specialty musk melons from the farmers market when they’re at their peak. Just a few chunks of super ripe frozen cantaloupe in a smoothie adds a really fresh summery flavor to a smoothie. It’s like a breath of fresh air at the end of the long gray winter months.

My two year old just loves smoothies! We usually make them with coconut milk, carrots and spinach hidden in there with some frozen berries and banana.

Large handful of spinach, 1 frozen banana, 1 T chia seeds, 1 cup almond milk, a splash of vanilla flavoring, a few shakes of cinnamon. It tastes like rice pudding

Frozen peach slices, frozen mango pieces, 1 banana and as much spinach as I can stuff in. I add a bit of water if it’s too thick.

Looks super green but tastes creamy like ice cream!

I just tend to throw things together. But usually a banana. Some strawberries. Coconut milk. Honey it fruit isn’t real sweet. An apple and grapes if I have them.

I love green smoothies. Fresh or frozen spinach, 1/2 apple sliced, handful frozen blueberries, handful strawberries, water, vanilla extract, cinnamon. I also add applesauce for sweetness as needed.
