What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
I'm not sure if it was helpful but I drank lots of red raspberry leaf tea! It's quite delicious! I also had my friends and family make me birth affirmations.

What surprised you about your birth?
That baby was 10 pounds 6 oz and I pushed her out! I kept screaming "I did it I did it ! I didn't think I could do it!"

Get a midwife and doula! They were the most amazing support system for me during my birth. I honestly couldn't have done it without them I probably would have ended up going to a hospital to give birth instead!

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Having my doula or midwife give me massages with arnica oil, being in the tub, getting on all fours, sitting on the toilet.

What position did you end up delivering in?
All fours in the tub.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
So happy! I couldn't believe I did it!

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Get a midwife and doula! They were the most amazing support system for me during my birth. I honestly couldn't have done it without them I probably would have ended up going to a hospital to give birth instead! Having that team was amazing. Also have arinca oil it feels so great on your back when you're in labor, get drinks with electrolytes, have loved ones make you birth affirmations, and if you have other kids let them experience this with you my daughter helped me birth her baby sister and they have this amazing bond!
