7pm- he arrived just before midnight.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
As I had an emergency C-section with my first child, I had never experienced pushing. I found the pushing stage long and tiring.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Read everything I could on natural childbirth and join Facebook groups of natural and unassisted childbirthers!

What surprised you about your birth?
The intensity of it. It was also a shorter labour than I had expected. A final surprise was that I never experienced the notorious "ring of fire"!

Your body is more than capable! It is hard work and all consuming, but it's not what I would call painful. I can't wait to have another natural childbirth!

Water (the birthing pool).

What position did you end up delivering in?
On my knees leaning on the side of the pool.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Absolutely mind-blowing! I couldn't believe he was here!

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Your body is more than capable! It is hard work and all consuming, but it's not what I would call painful. I can't wait to have another natural childbirth!
