  • When did you realize you were really in labor?

When contractions were painful enough they stopped me in my tracks. I couldn’t talk through them or focus on anything else.?

  • What was the most challenging thing about going natural?

Not knowing when my baby would be born! I have friends who were given induction or cesarean dates.. I got impatient as my due date came & went!

  • What surprised you about your birth?

How fast and smoothly it went! My previous labor was 24 hours, this time was only 3!!

  • Believe you can do it! My favorite phrase is “you can do anything for a minute”. The contractions may be hard but they won’t last forever and before you know it, 10 months of waiting is over and baby is in your arms.
  • What pain relief strategies worked best?

Water! I labored in the shower on a birth ball and delivered in the birth pool

  • What position did you end up delivering in?

It was a combo! Started pushing on hands and knees, then went into captain’s pose and finally delivered standing up!

  • How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?

Relieving. This baby was our rainbow so his pregnancy was full of anxiety. I couldn’t believe he was here and safe!

  • What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?

Believe you can do it! My favorite phrase is “you can do anything for a minute”. The contractions may be hard but they won’t last forever and before you know it, 10 months of waiting is over and baby is in your arms.
