When did you realize you were really in labor?
I realized I had gone into labor after waking up thinking I wet myself around one in the morning. Shortly after I realized I was having contractions about 5 minutes apart!

The most challenging thing about going natural was defending the choice to go natural to other people.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
The most helpful thing I did to prepare for childbirth was watching tons of natural and home birth videos and reading empowering stories. It helped me visualize birth as beautiful and positive.

What surprised you about your birth?
I was surprised at how quickly it all happened! My water broke around 1 am and my baby boy was in my arms by 7:44 am!

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Slow and steady breathing, walking and hot water were so helpful for pain relief.

What position did you end up delivering in?
I ended up delivering in the birth tub with my husband holding one leg and a midwife holding the other.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
It felt amazing to hold my baby for the first time. I couldn't stop smiling and I felt so strong and full of love.

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Never doubt your ability. You were made to do this. Giving birth is your super power!
