  1. Pumpkin Pancakes! Especially this gluten free recipe:
1 can organic bpa free pumpkin puree
    4 eggs
    1/2 T pumpkin spice mix
    2 T melted butter

Mix all ingredients together. Cook in 1/4 cup patties on a buttered cast iron griddle. Yum!

  2. Hey, Mama! I stumbled across your site recently and LOVE these videos! You have such refreshingly positive energy. πŸ™‚ I used to love pumpkin spice lattes, but I gave up sugar. I’ll have to try your recipe. My 10 month old loves pumpkin and banana puree that I make.

  3. I love pumpkin! And so does my son. However, this week we found out he is allergic to pumpkin! Explains the tummy aches at this time of year and getting sick every year at the pumpkin patch!

I am going to make a butternut squash pie with coconut milk this year instead of pumpkin.

  4. Just wondering about the yogurt drink you said you make for Paloma. Is it like the one you make Griffin, just smaller? Malcolm will be 1 in 2 weeks. we haven’t really tried dairy yet. He still breastfeeds for naps and bedtime… so i’m sure i could try it just as a snack?

  5. Hi dear Genevieve! Would you consider doing a video of your current natural family products? Bath products, home products, travel toiletries, and the like? Really interested to see what products are working for you and your bunch πŸ™‚ Oh, and totally trying the Pumpkin Gummy Treats!!

  6. The cupcake war! Wait until they go to grade school and each birthday the kid brings in cupcakes for the whole class! That’s a lot of birthdays and cupcakes to fight!:)
Pumpkin ravioli with brown butter sage sauce! Love it homemade!
    Paloma is so giggly cute!

  7. I actually enjoy the ‘sponsor’ adds. Where have they gone?

Haven’t tried the pumpkin spice latte recipes but looking forward to it….I went to Starbucks today and had one and well – I guess now that I know how bad they are; it just didn’t taste that great. I guess that is a good thing.

    • Oh, thank you! We’ll have more sponsors in the future so stay tuned πŸ™‚

  8. Pumpkin Pie πŸ™‚
P.S. Your videos are the highlight of my day as a SAHM πŸ™‚ Thanks!

    • Thank you so much Jacque. Believe me, I know how hard a job being a SAHM can be – and how important it is to get a little break every now and then πŸ™‚

  9. I Love pumpkin pie but I’m gluten free and so I decided on making the pie without the crust and bake it at a lower temp. Oh my lord this is such a delicious dish. I sub in honey for all the sugar and thought about making a crumble to go on top of it that is full of almonds and chopped nuts (walnuts since I live in a walnut orchard) I’ve also been making gluten free oatmeal with a spoon full of pumpkin puree for my little ones in the morning they’ve been digging that alot. I love the fall its my favorite season

  10. Our favorite pumpkin treat is pumpkin custard. I use this fresh pumpkin pie recipe (http://www.pickyourown.org/pumpkinpie.php), but I replace the sugar with 1/2 c. honey and the milk with coconut milk. I bake it without a crust and serve it as a custard.

So easy. So delicious. Babies love it too. It’s yummiest if you bake it in little ramekins because it sort of caramelizes around the edges. The recipe looks complicated, but it’s actually very simple and easy. It would be easy to add some gelatin to it if you wanted to as well.

  11. Three things: 1.) I LOVE these videos. 2.) I LOVE all things pumpkin. Lately pumpkin oat muffins have been a hit with the 2 year old and 3.) Paloma is just the cutest! She’s grown so fast & it makes me realize my 5 mo old is going to be walking before I know it =(

    • Aw, thanks Alexis! Pumpkin Oat Muffins sound delish! She IS growing up fast. Enjoy every moment of pre-walking πŸ™‚

  12. Can’t wait to try the pumpkin latte! I love pretty much anything pumpkin πŸ™‚

  13. Love your IRL updates. Also LOVE your sweater – where is it from? Thanks in advance.

    • Thanks Vanessa! I got it at Forever 21 πŸ™‚

  14. Hi Genevieve!
Really love your pumpkin smoothie! Yum!
Wondering if you put stevia in Paloma’s baby food/raw goat yogurt drink?
    Love your blog!

    • Hi Priscilla!

Thanks! I have on a few occasions. I use the whole stevia plant extract. I usually just use fruit puree and that’s plenty sweet with the yogurt.

  15. We make pumpkin chocolate chip muffins! But the pumpkin spice latte has now become a fall staple at my house πŸ™‚

  16. oh pumpkin cheesecake. i must find a way to make it healthier because it most definitely is not, but it is soooooo yummy.

  17. Pumpkin Bread!! But don’t put pumpkin in my coffee…no thanks!

  18. Everything pumpkin!! Pie, bread, lattes…I love it all!

  19. I’m a pumpkin pie LOVER. Is there any healthy alternatives for that??

  20. My daughter (2.5 years) and I LOVE pumpkin pie.
I was wondering if you were still breastfeeding Paloma? My daughter still breastfeeds and she loves it!!

  21. I really love all things pumpkin spice. One of my favorites was the pumpkin spice oatmeal recipe I found on Pinterest some time back, but lately I’ve noticed that I don’t feel as good as I’d like when I start my day with grains alllll the time. Which sort of stinks, because oatmeal = comfort food to me.

I was looking for alternatives and found everything from chia custard to cauliflower (I am so curious as to what that would taste like as porridge, but haven’t been brave enough yet). I finally found one that sounded too simple not to try. I wish I remembered which blog it was from, but it was a paleo blogger mommy who used mashed banana and unsweetened shredded coconut for her kid instead of oatmeal. After tweaking it, and adding copious amounts of pureed pumpkin, I came up with a pumpkin spice porridge that is totally free of grains and I am like, totally addicted. It’s just the banana, pumpkin, spices, coconut milk, shredded coconut, and I usually throw in a tiny bit of almond meal and flax for more of a grainy texture. Then chopped nuts and whatever else I’m in the mood for.

I’m going to have to try the cooked plantain. I use them a lot for grain free baking, but I’ve honestly never just EATEN them solo.

    • YUM! That sounds good. Love your creativity in the kitchen πŸ™‚ Plantain is super yummy cooked in coconut oil with vanilla and cinnamon.

  22. I love anything pumpkin….pumpkin spice lattes, I’ve been making pumpkin spice baked oatmeal and pumpkin chocolate chip muffins (Deliciously Organic’s coconut flour recipe, but I add spice too!), and pumpkin pie smoothies! I’d love to try some more savory pumpkin/butternut and sage dishes, but pasta is what it sounds best in and I’m avoiding gluten and dairy right now so I’d rather wait til I can add cheese. The conference/meeting sound neat, and I’m looking forward to the summits!!

    • Glad you registered for summit. Should be awesome!

  23. Love your blog! I’m from Nashville; hope you got to explore this great city while you were here! I make pumpkin oatmeal in the slow cooker! Great to make a big batch for a quick and cozy fall breakfast every morning! Also really good with steel cut oats!

    • YUM! What a great idea. Papa Natural would LOVE this! You live in a VERY friendly city πŸ™‚

  24. We LOVE the pumpkin spice latte! I’ve made it now for several family members and friends and everyone agrees it’s WAY better than the Starbucks version! Not to mention cheaper and healthier. Thanks so much for sharing. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  25. Hey Mama!
Love love love your blog and videos! I also follow Wellness Mama and Mommypotamus; it’s amazing what a small community this seems to be! I’m definitely a pumpkin everything kinda girl-it’s SO HARD to walk by Starbucks everyday and not go in, especially when the pumpkin spice latte is out and the smell when the door opens….the air is crisp and the smell inside is warm and inviting. =X I’m definitely definitely trying out your version! I bought and cooked my first baking pumpkin the other day, and wow! I thought I got a small one, but I have a mason jar FULL of pumpkin! I already made gluten free, sugarless pumpkin pie, pumpkin muffins…I don’t know what else to do! There’s a complicated gf sugarless pumpkin cheesecake recipe I may try…anyone have other suggestions?!? =D Cheers!!

    • Good for you! Pumpkin custard. You can make my gummies and smoothie too πŸ™‚

  26. I would have freaked out! I’m about to leave my toddler with my husband for less than 24 hours and I’m having anxiety about it. Did you have enough pumped milk for Paloma? I’m running out of pumped goods but I guess he could deal with having cow’s milk for 1 night if need be, right?

    • Hey Dani,
I saw your comment on having anxiety about leaving your little one with Daddy for 24hrs. I totally understand! I am still nursing my 11 month old daughter. I like to have a carton or two of goats milk (easier on the digestive track) in the pantry as an emergency back up for her. The grocery store Jewel even carries it in the health food isle.
You know what, someway/somehow they (Daddies) just step it up when we’re gone. It’s amazing how we leave for a little bit and your man just figures it out! πŸ™‚ Enjoy your small break!
      Be Well,
      Lauren

    • LOL. We had the recipe for Nourishing Tradition’s/WAPF homemade formula and it came in handy as I don’t have anymore frozen breast milk! Paloma loved it and drank it right down. We used the Momma bottles from Lansinoh since they are similar to the breast in flow, shape, etc. And yes, at 10 months, one day of cow’s milk would be fine in my mind.

  27. Hey Mama Natural!
As I was watching your latest IRL #33, I just had a thought about something you can maybe look into adding to your videos (?). I know some videos you can have a sort of “Table of Contents” deal that you click and it takes you to a specific point in the video. This would be super handy in your videos if someone wanted to re-watch a certain part, without having to watch the whole video or guess where it was. Since your videos have sections (Grr, Aww, Nom – ya know), it seems like it would be handy to include, if it isn’t too much trouble. I know nothing about video editing or youtube and how these things work, but just thought I’d share the idea.
Thanks for sharing your family and your life, I always look forward to your new videos!

  28. I just love the way Paloma looks at her daddy. Every time he speaks to her she just has this look on her face like she knows he hung the moon. True blue daddy’s girl!

    • Aw, they share the same birthday too πŸ™‚
