I gave up coffee years ago because I don’t do well with caffeine. (Need help getting off caffeine? Check out this post. And here’s another post on a super hot topic: Is it safe to drink coffee while pregnant?)

Decaf is fine every once in a while in a latte (love my Pumpkin Spice Latte), but coffee just is not a daily drink for me. Yet I still love the idea of a warm, creamy, bitter, and earthy drink every morning. It’s a ritual and a treat that I always enjoy.

I’ve experimented with decaf chai, herbal teas, and kombucha, but nothing really did it for me. Until now, that is.

I’ve finally found a morning drink that satisfies the craving

Best of all, this morning drink is extremely good for me!

Because it contains roasted dandelion root, I called this drink my Liver Love Brew. And we should be loving our liver… this detox organ is vital for everything from hormone regulation to vitamin absorption and digestion. If you treat your liver well, you can help yourself age gracefully, stave off depression, and decrease your risk of cancer—all wonderful benefits.

Dandelion Root Tea to the rescue!

In various studies, Dandelion root tea has exhibited “choleretic” effects, meaning it stimulates the liver to boost bile flow. When bile is in turn released by the liver, it carries away waste and breaks down fats during digestion.

This beverage is also gluten and GMO-free, includes over 50 trace minerals in each cup, and contains healthy fats and natural sugars. Win, win, win!

Without further ado, here’s how to show your liver some love with this amazingly delicious tea detox drink.

Dandelion Root Tea Detox Drink

Here’s how to make it:

  1. Add the Dandy Blend to the hot water and let steep for 10 minutes.
  2. Add your sweetener and coconut milk. This is also the time to add the grass-fed collagen, if you’re using it.
  3. Enjoy!

I usually enjoy this tasty drink first thing in the morning and sometimes I even indulge in another cup as my afternoon tea. Yum, yum, yum!
