  • What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?

I read a lot and watched videos of natural births. My birth was a VBAC so I researched that as well. I also hired a doula.

  • What surprised you about your birth?

I was surprised at how fast she came after they checked me at the hospital. It was about an hour later that she was born. When they checked me, I was at 5cm. 5cm to being born in an hour. Wow!

  • Be prepared. It will hurt but it is definitely worth it. Recovery is better and much quicker.
  • What pain relief strategies worked best?

Breathing and being on my hands and knees worked best for pain relief, but there was definitely still A LOT of pain. ?

  • What position did you end up delivering in?

I delivered my daughter on the floor on my hands and knees.

  • How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?

    Absolutely amazing ??❤️❤️
Holding my new daughter for the first time was the best feeling I could have.

  • What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?

Be prepared. It will hurt but it is definitely worth it. Recovery is better and much quicker.
