  • When did you realize you were really in labor?

    Night before I delivered. Contractions were bearable but consistent and growing in intensity.

  • What was the most challenging thing about going natural?

    The most challenging thing was shaking the fear of pain. I just didn't want to experience the opposite of what I had been preparing for.

    Attend Bradley classes with my husband

  • What surprised you about your birth?

    It was quick, in the middle of the day and my body was very gracious. My Contractions stopped at night and I was able to sleep and they spread out dramatically during the 50 minute ride to the birth center.

  • Take classes that teach about the process and necessities of natural birth, practice, know your options and make up mind to do it.
  • What pain relief strategies worked best?

    Walking, tuning in, quiet concentration, warm birthing tub water and RELAXATION.

  • What position did you end up delivering in?

    On my knees bent over the side of the birthing tub.

  • How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?

    Amazing and surreal. I could not believe pregnancy was over and motherhood had begun.

  • What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?

    Take classes that teach about the process and necessities of natural birth, practice, know your options and make up mind to do it.
