Mental Preparation Helped Mackenzie During Her Birth Center Birth

  • When did you realize you were really in labor?

    I woke up at 2am with strong contractions. I knew I was in labor when they were consistent for more then 2 hours and they started getting closer together

    Trusting the process at times.

    Preparing myself mentally was the best thing I did to prepare for childbirth. I did a lot of research and gathered a lot of affirmations and really connected with myself and my body.

    The human body is freaking awesome!

  • What pain relief strategies worked best?

    Affirmations... It's not pain, it's power. Making moaning in animal noises.

  • What position did you end up delivering in?

    On my back. But I labored in many positions.

  • How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?

    Unexplainable. I just cried!

  • How did the Mama Natural Birth Class help you in your childbirth?

    The Mama Natural Birth Course taught me so much. It really prepared me for a natural childbirth and I would recommend it to everybody!
