Rest and Positive Mindset Helped Jennifer During Her Hospital Birth

  • When did you realize you were really in labor?

    When my contractions became so much I could not walk or talk through them.

    The wait and for me it was knowing when labor was real and progressing.

  • What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?

    Rest and positive mindset. I knew my body did this two times prior naturally so I had faith in my third labor and was not scared.

  • What surprised you about your birth?

    We arrived at the hospital at 2pm and our daughter was born 2:45pm. We progressed from 2cm to 9.5 in three short hours while at home!! The pushing and labor was so fast!!! The body is amazing!

  • Stay positive! Your body is capable of amazing things be thankful for such an experience!! Also stay flexible what matters most is baby and mom are healthy in the end!!!
  • What pain relief strategies worked best?

    For me breathing and my husbands voice coaching me!

  • What position did you end up delivering in?

    In hospital bed on my back.

  • How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?

    I was so proud of her and I that the feeling was amazing. She was 40 weeks one day and we have two boys so we were very happy to finally have her in our arms!!

  • What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?

    Stay positive! Your body is capable of amazing things be thankful for such an experience!! Also stay flexible what matters most is baby and mom are healthy in the end!!!
