Sarah's C-Section Birth

  • When did you realize you were really in labor?

    I had a scheduled c-section due to baby measuring big. At 37 weeks she was already measuring at 40 weeks confirmed with an ultrasound.

  • What was the most challenging thing about going natural?

    I had a scheduled c- section

  • What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?

    I researched c- sections as with my other pregnancy I delivered vaginal without an epidural. I was completely scared and overwhelmed knowing I had to have a c- section.

  • What surprised you about your birth?

    The ease of having a c-section. My doctor, nurses, etc. made the experience easy and I was able to immediately nurse my daughter shortly after delivery.

  • Talk everything over with your doctor and support person. Knowing that sometimes plans have to change but still voice your desires.
  • What pain relief strategies worked best?

    Required epidural

    C-section

  • How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?

    Words can't describe the amazing feeling of holding your baby for the first time. It's a try miracle.

  • What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?

    Talk everything over with your doctor and support person. Knowing that sometimes plans have to change but still voice your desires.
