When did you realize you were really in labor?
My water broke at 1:30am and contractions started immediately. This was my second home birth so I knew what to expect.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
I honestly can't say what was most challenging. I choose to have a natural home birth for both my babies. I accepted the challenges and used them as power to deliver.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
My midwife.

What surprised you about your birth?
This birth was shorter overall, compared to my first birth, but I pushed for 3 of my 4 hours of labor with this one. It was exhausting.

Prepare yourself. Don't give up. Know how strong you are as a human. We did the Bradley method for both our home births and the knowledge we gained was so powerful.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
I didn't use any pain relief. I concentrated on my mantras and my husband talked me through the hardest contractions.

On all 4's doggy style on the floor.
