Aiden Name Meaning

Aiden has been taking the baby name world by storm since the early 2000s with his stylish look and trendy vibes. He’s the name of two saints as well as a king, leaving his mark on history long before sneaking up the name charts. The name has burned especially bright in the hearts of many parents thanks to its warm meaning “little fire.”

Boyish and adventurous, little Aiden is bursting with energy, perhaps due to his fiery meaning. He’s a name rich with character, the perfect choice for a little boy destined for games of backyard tag and exploration with friends. Despite his youthful feel he also wears well on adults thanks to his lack of cutesy nicknames and strong ending similar to yesterday’s Brandon and Alan.

Aiden is on-trend with the -aden name craze of Hayden, Brayden, Caiden, and Jaden. He’s also a vowel name, a trend seen in the rise of Owen, Ethan, and Oliver. In addition, he’s an Irish name, an origin that has been dominating U.S. charts with Liam, Dylan, and Conor making their marks as well.

Aiden is teeming with variant spellings for parents to choose from including Aidan, Ayden, Aydan, and Aden. Similar names without the popularity are Eagan, Brendon, and Kieran.

  4. For 5 months we thought our little boy was a little girl. It came as quite the shock when we found out otherwise. It took a few hours to pick the right name, but we settled with Aiden because it’s Irish for little fire. We chose this name because for those 5 months before we learned the true gender, he would “beat” me up. We just felt it was appropriate.

  5. By te way way I wasn’t the one who chose the name, it was his father and I accepted it because it has good meaning…it means FIRE and HANDSOME ? and so I believe that what you call your child then that’s what your child is gonna be.
