Doing Lots of Research Helped Kimberly During Her Hospital Birth

  • When did you realize you were really in labor?

    I was having awful back pain and lots of pressure.

  • What was the most challenging thing about going natural?

    I had to have pitocin to regulate contractions. After 6 centimeters that was the most painful, I wasn't sure I was going to be able to go epidural free. I had wonderful support and went from 6 centimeters to 9 in half an hour.

  • What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?

    Lots of research, I was very young with my first two pregnancies and I wanted to do things different this time. I would like to point out I was still epidural free with all threw.

  • What surprised you about your birth?

    How fast she came out. I only pushed for 10 minutes.

  • Have a great support and make sure you tell your doctors and nurses what you want right away.
  • What pain relief strategies worked best?

    Hand pressure on the lower back and walking around.

  • What position did you end up delivering in?

    In bed.

  • How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?

    Amazing, she was beautiful. Over joyed with love.

  • What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?

    Have a great support and make sure you tell your doctors and nurses what you want right away.
