When did you realize you were really in labor?
I suspected it would be soon as I lost the mucus plug. The next evening my water broke. My labors have a history of being fast so we went straight to the hospital.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
When labor didn't start right away like I expected it lost my nerve. I want a c-section or something anything so I wouldn't have to go through labor. Lol. So the most challenging thing for me was getting my mental state back in line. My 15yr old daughter was a great doula helping visualize baby's decent and lots of encouraging words. And hubby staying at my side giving courage and lots of support.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Reading lots of positive birth stories. Doing spinning babies exercises and drinking red raspberry leaf tea.
-
What surprised you about your birth?
Pushing was a lot more difficult than the other babies. But this little guy was a lot bigger :)

If things don't start right away don't panic. We went for a walk did some side lying releases and before we knew it contractions were regular and strong :)

What pain relief strategies worked best?
I had lots of pain in my back so counter pressure and hip squeezes helped. Also I moved positions a lot.
-
What position did you end up delivering in?
I delivered on my hands and knees. First time I ever did that. It really helped with the pain in my back and hips. He wasn't posterior the whole time he turned at the end and delivered anterior
