When did you realize you were really in labor?
My Dr. Was Doug an exams the day before my due date and my water broke on the table during it.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
I tried to go natural but was pressured into being put on pitocin. The contractions at 9 cm became to intense with no breaks in between. So I finally had to give into an epidural after 11hrs of labor.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
My Doula was a huge part of me making it as far along without pain meds as I did! I highly recommend a doula for anyone wanting to try to have a natural birth.
-
What surprised you about your birth?
How big my son was and that I was able to push him out unassisted (thanks to turning off epidural and being able to feel the process). My first was 2lbs smaller and had to be vacuumed out.

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Hire a doula and don't let the medical professionals pressure you into decisions your against. That's is my only regret.
