When did you realize you were really in labor?
A cervical check accidentally put me into labor. I started having painful contractions and I also started shivering.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
Towards the end the contractions were so intense and I was told I wasn't fully dilated so I thought it was going to be a few more hours until I could push. Thankfully my body took charge and started pushing on it own.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Hiring a doula!!

What surprised you about your birth?
I went to labor & delivery because I had slightly elevated blood pressure. I never expected to be giving birth that same day. Doctors wanted to check me to see if I had dilated at all. They wanted to induce me the next week (I would have refused induction anyway). I let them check me and it put me into labor.
