When did you realize you were really in labor?
When I started having contractions that were consistent and got more painful as time went on.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
When I went into the transition period. It was horrible and I wanted to give up but I made it through!

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Watched tons of birthing videos and read a lot of natural birth stories.

What surprised you about your birth?
That once I hit 7cm, I was pushing 2 minutes later and it only took 2 pushes to get her out and I didn't tear!

Believe in yourself! Every time my contractions got to the point where I wanted to give up, I would keep telling myself that I am strong and I can do this and it helped me so much.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Taking deep breaths and focusing on an object. I also liked having tons of pressure put on my lower back when the contraction reached its peak.

What position did you end up delivering in?
On my back. I didn't want to deliver this way but I was in so much pain that I didn't want to get into a better position.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
It was so amazing! I cried and fell in love instantly. She was so tiny and so beautiful.

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
