When did you realize you were really in labor?
After losing part of my mucus plug and I started having hard, long contractions.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
Part of my cervix didn't thin. So there was a "lip" of it covering some of his head and I couldn't get him around it. Made it all the more challenging.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Squats and taking Evening Primrose Oil.

What surprised you about your birth?
How well my midwife and doctor stuck to my plans of going natural, even when I changed my mind. They really stuck with it and helped me through.

Having a great team there to support your wishes of natural. Even though there could be complications, if you or the baby aren't in any danger they won't give in.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Moving and the water tub.

What position did you end up delivering in?
Half squaring/laying down pulling on a towel while the nurse pulled opposite

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Amazing but exhausting

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Having a great team there to support your wishes of natural. Even though there could be complications, if you or the baby aren't in any danger they won't give in.
