When did you realize you were really in labor?
I went in for an induction because I had Gestational Diabetes First the DR broke my water and said if I progressed that way thats all she would have to do

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
The most Helpful thing I did was took some vitamins to help make my labor go easily. also I went into Labor saying I will not Get an epidural. An epidural is not an option. when its not a option you wont take it. I believe for me if I went in saying well if it gets to bad I will take the Epidural . Then in the back of my mind I would always think well I can get the epidural and I would have taken it.

What surprised you about your birth?
What surprised me is first how well I took the pain and second my son was 12lbs 1oz . he was sunny side up. what also surprised me was that he had a knot in his cord but that didn't effect anything

Stay focused. do your research. Make up your mind that you are going to do it. Tell yourself you can do it and have people around you that support your decision and they don't criticize you for your decision.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Breathing and focusing on the same thing in the room. with my second child I found a dot on the celling and foucsed on that. with this one I found something on the wall. and also Remembering that this pain will not last forever

I was in the stirups

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
It felt amazing the hold my baby for the first time. I thought the pushing was never going to end. Then all the sudden there he was on my belly. It was so great.

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Stay focused. do your research. Make up your mind that you are going to do it. Tell yourself you can do it and have people around you that support your decision and they don't criticize you for your decision.
