Reading Natural Childbirth Books, Doing Her Research, Her Doula And Prayer Helped Cendy Achieve Her Natural Hospital Birth

  • When did you realize you were really in labor?

I started getting mild period cramps on Saturday, January 6th, 2018. They became more intense on Sunday. I knew I was in labor when the cramps or contractions required me to focus on breathing through them on Sunday afternoon. My mucus plug kept coming and coming and got bloodier and bloodier.

  • What was the most challenging thing about going natural?

I kept doubting myself the weekend I went into labor. I was not confident in my ability to get through this. I felt like society was saying I was crazy for doing this. But I got to the hospital and was 7 cm dilated. At that point I felt empowered and like a rock star for laboring at home until I was 7 cm dilated.
