  • When did you realize you were really in labor?

    I realized it was real labor when I was walking the mall and the contractions kept getting stronger. My friend told me I should start timing them because I had started to vocalize a lot during them.

  • What was the most challenging thing about going natural?

    The most difficult part was convincing friends and family that I would be okay.

    The most helpful thing I did was get adjusted at my chiropractor and make a birth affirmation banner!

  • What surprised you about your birth?

    I was mostly surprised by how far past my guess date I was! Baby was "due" December 8th and didn't make his way earthside until December 21st!

  • If you want to go natural, hire a doula and really research your provider options!
  • What pain relief strategies worked best?

    For pain relief my doula applied counter pressure to my hips! It was absolutely fabulous. Another thing that helped was the hot water in my birth tub!

  • What position did you end up delivering in?

    I was squatting to deliver!

  • How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?

    Holding him for the first time was absolute bliss! I thanked him for finally coming out!

  • What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?

    If you want to go natural, hire a doula and really research your provider options!
