When did you realize you were really in labor?
On 2/22 at 6:30 PM after dinner at my mother in Las house my water started to leak down my legs. I went to the bathroom and it kept coming so I knew.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
Being my first time going natural the hardest thing for me was staying strong through very painful contractions. I wondered how long it would go on at times and I even cried to cope but I made it through.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
The most helpful thing I used to prepare was making my mind up very early in pregnancy that I was going natural and then mentality preparing myself through pregnancy using various relaxation techniques and attending birth education sessions with my doula.

What surprised you about your birth?
I was surprised that I transitioned from 4cm to 7cm ready to push within an hour of being checked. Labor went fast

Prepare early in pregnancy and mentally focus on your goal it is so worth it and empowering when you hold your baby for the first time. Breath and know that you are amazing and your body and baby know what to do.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Walking and squatting also lots of counter pressure on my back.

What position did you end up delivering in?
I was laying down on the hospital bed.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
I was relieved physically and mentally.

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
