When did you realize you were really in labor?
After a few days of prodromal labor, I woke up at 1 am with strong contractions that were already 3 to 5 minutes apart. I was 41 weeks and 2 days and beyond ready.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
Although I progressed fairly quickly to 7 cm, my baby was posterior facing. I had painful back labor and it took a long time for baby to descend and dilate the rest of the way.

What surprised you about your birth?
Back labor! I was not prepared mentally for that pain.

Just work through each contraction one at a time. And even though it may be painful be upright and move!

Massage and shower with the focus being my back.

What position did you end up delivering in?
Side lying.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Instant amnesia of all the pain I had just experienced. No words can describe how beautiful of a moment it is to meet your baby.

Just work through each contraction one at a time. And even though it may be painful be upright and move!
