When did you realize you were really in labor?
1am on 10/21/16, my water broke. I thought I was still having Braxton Hicks though.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
The 20 minutes it took to go from 6 to 10 were pretty intense. I was doubting my ability to do it and assuming it would take hours.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
I took an online birth class, birth boot camp, and had a doula.

What surprised you about your birth?
How quickly it went. I wouldn't have had time for an epidural even if I wanted one.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Groaning, though not much helped.

What position did you end up delivering in?
Supine, though I labored on hands and knees after it got going. They cow tipped me to flip me over.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Amazing! I couldn't believe I did it!

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
You can do it! Trust your gut and have a doula!
