When did you realize you were really in labor?
My water broke at 5:00 am while I was laying in bed having mild contractions. I felt a pop and when I got up later some water ran down my legs. My toddler, who was sleeping next to me woke up his dad to tell him I'd peed myself.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
There really wasn't anything challenging at all. I had a wonderful and relaxed labour.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
I accepted my fate. I viewed it as a roller coaster ride, I'm just along for the ride.

What surprised you about your birth?
How it ended. My daughter presented in the worst possible way, a transverse brow presentation, which left no option but a cesarean.

It was a cesarean.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
I don't remember holding her for the first time due to all the drugs I was on.

Your body can do it. Keep a sense of humour.
