When did you realize you were really in labor?
After over a day of inconsistent contractions, I took a medication that my midwife said would make the contractions ease unless it was real labor. Well, an hour after taking the meds, I was still having contractions and they felt more intense and consistent.

We took a Bradley birth class before our first child

What surprised you about your birth?
It was much more intense than my first birth. I even yelled through several pushes whereas I made no noises the first time.

Take a Bradley class and establish a good relationship with your OB or midwife. Ask lots of questions and express your fears or concerns.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Leaning forward, relaxing, and breathing through contractions. My midwife also had a thing for my back to ease the pain there. It was like mild shock therapy.

Incredible! Relieved!
