  • What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?

My HypnoBabies class and practice. Open communication with my midwives was also very helpful.

  • What surprised you about your birth?

How easy it was to actually birth her. I went through transformation and birthed her within 30 mins after a "rest and be thankful" period. Daddy had to catch her since she couldn't wait for the midwife to get here.

  • You can do it! Really spend some time in your last few months of pregnancy to get in the mindset that this is something you can do, psych yourself up. Your body is amazing and won't give you something you can't handle.
  • What pain relief strategies worked best?

My hypnosis was amazing! I also used my voice to release some of the energy.

  • What position did you end up delivering in?

    Half squat, half kneeling

  • How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?

Amazing! I got to guide her head out so it was really neat to support her as she was half in utro. We also didn't know the sex so it was really neat to find out in those first few moments.

  • What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?

You can do it! Really spend some time in your last few months of pregnancy to get in the mindset that this is something you can do, psych yourself up. Your body is amazing and won't give you something you can't handle.
