Talking With Her Doctor and Husband About What She Wanted and Needed From Them Helped Sabrina During Her Hospital Birth

  • When did you realize you were really in labor?

    Approximately 8pm on Sunday Dec 11th I was having mild contractions steady enough to know it was happening.

  • What was the most challenging thing about going natural?

    At a peak point of around 5cm dilation and when the contractions were very intense but the progress was slow and my water was intact still.

  • What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?

    Lots of information, using my essential oils and having them in the labor room. Talking with my dr and husband about what I wanted and what I needed from them.

  • What surprised you about your birth?

    The intensity and the trouble I had pushing.

  • Its a mindset you have to be determined and tell yourself there are no other options.
  • What pain relief strategies worked best?

    Moving positions, praying, and concentration.

  • What position did you end up delivering in?

    Ended up on the bed after multiple positions.

  • How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?

    There are no words for the rush of emotions ad feelings..

  • What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?

    Its a mindset you have to be determined and tell yourself there are no other options.
