Birth Stories

Wendy's Doula Assisted Hospital Birth

  • When did you realize you were really in labor?

Woke up at 3am at 40+5 with contractions annoying enough to lay in a hot bath and time them for an hour, once the water got cold I got out to pee and noticed my mucus plug and thought to myself, hmm, I'm in labor. My first baby was an induction so I was new at the spontaneous thing.

  • What was the most challenging thing about going natural?

My labor progressed very quickly and with the help of my doula I was able to handle my contractions. The challenging part was when I wasn't allowed to push because of a non rebounding heart rate of my babe which was an issue because I was attempting a VBAC.
