Eating Healthy, Supplements And Staying Active Helped Kimberly During Home Birth

  • When did you realize you were really in labor?

    I had been having contractions on and off for a week and was getting close to 42 weeks, the night I went into active labor I waited a while to even time them since I didn't want to get my hopes up in case it wasn't true labor yet.

  • What was the most challenging thing about going natural?

    For me it was not letting others fears and anxieties get to me because I know how amazing natural birth is especially home birth.

  • What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?

    Eat healthy, take quality supplements, stay active and red raspberry leaf tea!!!

  • What surprised you about your birth?

    How smooth it went and also I had a doula originally to be there but once I was in labor I only wanted my husband and midwife there. I just wanted to meet my baby and wanted to keep progressing and I knew at that moment I had all the support I needed and just wanted to get to the other side and hold my baby !

  • What pain relief strategies worked best?

    Breathing and working with my body and not against it

  • What position did you end up delivering in?

    On my knees with my arms on the couch

  • How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?

    So amazing and I was so happy to finally have him in my arms

  • What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?

    Be strong and know that your body was made to do this and work with your body and prepare for your birth during your pregnancy and red raspberry leaf tea drink daily !
