What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
I did a lot of research, and I had an AMAZING midwife and doula! I bounced on a birthing ball and did squats a lot. Also, as soon as i hit 39 weeks, I started using essential oils for birth! Clary Sage is a great one!
-
What surprised you about your birth?
How truly amazing it was! My birth was so smooth and easy! I'd rather go through labor and birth again, than deal with most life issues! Ha!

What pain relief strategies worked best?
My doula had a large rice sock for my back labor that did wonders! I also spent most of my time with my husband in the shower!

What position did you end up delivering in?
On my hands and knees! I planned on delivering with a squatting bar, but my daughter was stuck on a lip at my cervix, and hands and knees was the only way to get her out!
-
How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
It's hard to explain. It was amazing seeing my daughter for the first time. But it was so surreal, i didn't really feel anything. All i could think was get her on my skin and on my boob!
