  • When did you realize you were really in labor?

    I 39w 5d. I woke up around 11pm to some pretty strong pains. Breathed through a few then realized they were less than 1 minute apart and figured I should call the midwife!

  • What was the most challenging thing about going natural?

    Keeping calm and relaxed. It's so easy to get caught up in the moment and wish this would end here and now. Calming the mind helps calm the body and the baby.

  • What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?

    The most helpful thing I did was keep active and positive. I love being pregnant and giving birth. I have such a love for the entire labor and birth process that I look forward to the big day with excitement and I don't think of the pain as bad pain.

  • What surprised you about your birth?

    I had lost all sense of time while I was in labor so I was extremely surprised to find out I had my daughter less than an hour after arriving at the birth center!

    Breathing and the water jets in the tub.

    I was sittings In the tub leaning back against the side.

  • How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?

    It felt amazing. Such a proud moment.

  • What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?

    Just relax and trust yourself and your baby. Read positive birth stories. be prepared and educate yourself.
