When did you realize you were really in labor?
Not until my water broke and the contractions got very intense did I truly believe it was happening. I was 2 weeks late so I was kind of in denial lol
-
What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
Labor is different for everyone so for me it was that I wasn't getting a break in between my contractions. When you learn about contractions they show you on paper what looks like a hill and then a flat line. I didn't have that flat line.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Becoming as informed as I could. Some people say "oh, just go with the flow" I don't agree with that. If you don't want doctors to take over your birth you need to be prepared and know what you want.
-
What surprised you about your birth?
The feeling I got when the baby finally came out. Nothing like I ever expected.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
The warm water of the shower worked best for me

What position did you end up delivering in?
Sitting up in a squat

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
I wouldn't even know how to put it into words. It's so amazing and surreal

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
If you want to go natural and have the best birthing experience possible, stay away from hospitals & find a practice with a midwife
