  • What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?

Hypnobabies and talking things out with my husband, midwives, and doula.

  • What surprised you about your birth?

There wasn't anything shocking, but I did enjoy this birth, aside from it going totally different from my original birth plans. I was able to have a gentle cesarean and witness my daughter being born and lifted up for me to see, with skin to skin after she was checked by nicu nurses.

  • Release any fears, make sure your relationship is strong with your partner, and have good communication with your support team.
  • What pain relief strategies worked best?

Hypnobabies, essential oils, and pain meds.

  • What position did you end up delivering in?

    In an OR.

  • How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?

Incredible! I will never forget how she seemed to wriggle and crawl her way closer into my chest and throat, nuzzling in as close as she could while I was being stitched back up from surgery.

  • What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?

Release any fears, make sure your relationship is strong with your partner, and have good communication with your support team.
