When did you realize you were really in labor?
I realized I was really in labor when I felt the need to get in the tub at home to get through contractions.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
Remembering the last few minutes before the baby comes out how much pressure is in your pelvis and I always feel as the bones "crack" right before I feel the head come out.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
I love reading other moms posts on what got them through it. Also knowing what calms me. The only thing I remember in the hard moments at the end was my soothing midwife 's voice and KTIS station playing oceans song in the background.

What surprised you about your birth?
How challenging the end was this time around (3rd birth) because I labored all day verses a fast labor with my second.

It is always such a relief when they finally come out and you hold their little warm body for the first time.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Water! Was in the bath tub at home for a while and labored some at the hospital in the birthing tub.

What position did you end up delivering in?
On my back on the hospital bed.

Unreal. It is always such a relief when they finally come out and you hold their little warm body for the first time.
