When did you realize you were really in labor?
At 10 pm on Sunday, contractions were 2-4 minutes apart, back labor. It started a little after my husband went to work.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
Back labor, it felt like someone was tearing my lower back and pelvis with every contraction.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Walking 3-4 miles a day.

What surprised you about your birth?
I had to have an episiotomy and stitches.

Exercise, as much as you can ( with your caregivers approval,) and drink cranberry juice everyday, ( it helps keep urinary tract healthy)!

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Midwife held my back with each contraction, and breathing into my belly.

On my back.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Wonderful relief, that she was here and perfect.
