When did you realize you were really in labor?
I realized I was in labor when my crampy feeling and back pain didn’t go away after plenty of water, a bath, and a few hours...
-
What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
My thoughts! My doctor mentioned a c-section multiple times before I went into labor and that idea was something I had to overcome mentally. Once my labor started, my determination to have a natural birth was what kept me going!

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
We had a Doula!!!

What surprised you about your birth?
The actual delivery didn’t hurt as much as I thought it might. The doctor’s decision to turn the baby while he was in the birth canal and the episiotomy - along with the fundal massage after birth- were some of the worst pains.

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Do your research. Dont believe everything a doctor says! I was told I’d have a 9 lb baby and that my pelvis was too narrow for vaginal delivery. My son weighed 7’14 and I delivered him vaginally without any pain meds!!
