Focusing on Seeing Her Baby Helped Nancy During Her Home Birth

  • When did you realize you were really in labor?

    When I was laying on my couch and my contractions were 4-5 minutes apart and 1.5 minutes long each.

  • What was the most challenging thing about going natural?

    The transition contractions. Those were the most intense part of the labor, even the pushing was not as intense.

    Knowing I'd be holding my baby in my arms once it was over.

    That I was able to walk around comfortable up until 7cms and that my water decided to break while I was in the tub.

    Focusing on seeing my baby and breathing calmly during contractions. Keeping calm really helped.

    I delivered in water on all fours.

    I was overjoyed and do excited! I cried from the joy.

  • What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?

    Your body knows what it's doing. Be calm and focus on meeting your baby. You can do this!
