When did you realize you were really in labor?
It was 5 minutes to midnight when I felt like a little hand stretch n then what I can describe as a popping noise was felt and I knew my water broke.
-
What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
1. Not knowing how how much longer I had till I got to meet my little prince.
2. The pressure from the hospital to get induced. The first 15 hours of labor were going nowhere. I had only been 1 centimeter dialated, and they kept trying to scare me that there was risk for infection if baby was in longer than 24 hours w a broken sack.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Working out, eating healthy, Walking and Squatting, and reading a lot. Probably the most helpful were all the birth stories I read, parts of each of them came to my mind as I was going through contractions.

What surprised you about your birth?
I pushed on my back for 4 hours with no result. As soon as I requested squat position and my midwife agreed, I performed 4 good pushes and baby was out!

What pain relief strategies worked best?
My husband. I had him tighten his hands around my hips with every contraction. Rubbing my back, and holding my hand. I honestly feel I couldn't of done it without him.
-
What position did you end up delivering in?
Squat position. Easy as 1-2-3
-
How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Euphoric! Like no one else had ever looked at me the way he did. He was so alert and focus on me, I couldn't believe he knew who I was.
