Hiring an Amazing Midwife and Doula Helped Elizabeth During Her Home Birth

  • When did you realize you were really in labor?

Contractions woke me up at 340am. They were still a good 5 minutes a part at that point so it took me a couple of hours to believe this was going to be our labor day.

  • What was the most challenging thing about going natural?

These contractions came on fast and fierce, so it was difficult to get on top of them and relax into them.

Hire an amazing midwife, doula and reading as much as I could. As well as scripture meditation, they were hung all through my bedroom during the birth.

  • What surprised you about your birth?

This was my 2hba2c, and she shocked us by weighing a whopping 12 pounds. She came out perfect and my body did it without tearing.

I laid in the bed with my peanut ball, the essential oils my doula used and counter pressure.

    I was on my back.

    Amazing.
