Prayer Helped Kristiana During Her Home Birth

  • When did you realize you were really in labor?

    10:30 am Dec 26th

  • What was the most challenging thing about going natural?

Mentally letting go and letting nature take its course is the most challenging. So much of our society is about control and being in control. Taking a deep breath and trusting the design of the birth process can be a struggle.

  • What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?

Prayer is my husband and I's number one prep for birth. Then my labor prep herbs from Trilight Health and Raspberry leaf tea come next.

  • What surprised you about your birth?

I was in shock at how much less the pain was and how much peace and composure I had the second time around.

  • Trust in the beautiful design. Take a deep breath and during each contraction focus on relaxing all your muscles and just let your body do it all.
  • What pain relief strategies worked best?

My favorite pain relieving strategies were prayer, the birthing pool, my husband massaging and kissing me, and I firmly believe that herbal labor prep really assists in having less pain during labor.

  • What position did you end up delivering in?

Laid back in the birthing pool

  • How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?

It is the most amazing feeling and there is no way to recreate it! You are flooded with all sorts of joy.

  • What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?

Trust in the beautiful design. Take a deep breath and during each contraction focus on relaxing all your muscles and just let your body do it all.
