  1. Not weird but not common. Easy to read. Good meaning behind it. Paired well with last name

  2. We were looking for a Biblical, simple to spell and pronounce unique name that could transcend different cultures around the world (our immediately family is made up of people from different cultural backgrounds).

Zane is the Hebrew word for John which means gift from God. And truly he is a special gift for us!

My husband thinks one of cons of the name is that it sounds too cool and might make our son a little troublemaker! Haha

  3. Zane is an old arabic name too that means good looking 🙂

  4. I LOVE ZANE FROM 1 DRECTION I CRYED WHEN THEY BROKE UP 🙁 4EVE1D

  5. My husband choose Zane. He wanted John but I have too many of those in my family so he started looking up different translations and came up with Zane. I loved it and it also means a gift. He was our rainbow baby so indeed he is a gift to us.

  6. My husband is Chinese and we wanted our baby to have a Chinese middle name and a somewhat unique Western first name.

We wanted both to glorify God if possible. My husband made up the name Ziyin as our son’s middle name, which means “the Holy Son leads”. I thought it’d be nice to find a first name with some similar letters so I scrolled through pages of boy names starting with “Z” and really liked Zane. Not only did it share 2 letters with his middle name, but it is unique and means “God is gracious”.

  7. My partner and I both loved it. His initials ZTZ! The meaning means gracious God

  8. Zane means “Gift from God” and it was important for his dad and I to choose a name for him that has meaning. We believe your name is the first prophetic word spoken over your life and this one came to us naturally.

  9. Well wanted something different but that had a good meaning..

  10. I love that it is unique and different. Now both my kiddos names start with Z.

  11. My other boys are Arlo and Orson, and we tried to incorporate something with the same sounds but ended up liking Zane the most. The beginning, middle and end of the alphabet are covered.
