  1. We live in Sweden so I have always wanted my kids to have Swedish names. Our 2 eldest girls are Kajsa, and Solveig. We had 2 girls and then I found out I was having another one! The name Astrid was getting more popular in Sweden and I really loved the feeling of the name. So, we named our third child Astrid which I think is the cutest name ever! then we also have our youngest who is a boy named Bjorn

  2. Astrid has been a dream name for me.My girl is adorable so I am adoring her with the name

  3. Its a nice name,my baby is adorable,so I adore her with astrid

  4. My Fiance has a Norse background. What better then to name her Astrid. A viking warrior princess.

  5. I love Astrid! If I ever had a daughter, her name would be Astrid. It’s so elegant and regal sounding.

  6. We chose Astrid because my husband is from Germany and we needed a name with the same pronunciation and spelling in both languages. Plus, it means divine beauty or divine strength. PLUS the woman who wrote Pippi Longstocking was named Astrid. ?

  7. We loved the uniqueness of the name and the fact that it is Scandinavian. My husband is American with Scandinavian descent and wanted our kids to have a unique name like his. We both did not want to have a top 100 name, even though Astrid might become more popular with the dragon movie.

    • I think few people are named Astrid in the United States, but Astrid is getting very popular in Sweden!
