Matias was also the disciple in the Bible who replaced Judas, they said of him that he was with them from the beginning, we feel this way about our baby, he has always been with us. Middle name is Seth which means appointed. If you think about it both names signify a new beginning, Matias the disciple after Judas great fall, Seth God’s 3rd Son to Eve after Cain is banished for killing Abel. Both names come as an encouragement for the future.

We chose Matias because my husband is Spanish and we wanted a name that could work in both Spanish and English languages, Also, we loved the meaning of the name – “gift from God”, which we truly believe is the case. We are both in our 40’s and didn’t think we could get pregnant. We did IVF, but because of our age, the odds were against us. But we were literally given a gift from God and we are so grateful!
