It is an Irish last name representing our Irish roots. “Callahan” means “lover of the church” in Gaelic, which was meaningful to us….also “strife” : ) (still relevant)! We wanted to keep the Gaelic “g”, spelling his name “Callaghan”, because the “g” was generally dropped (not by choice) as immigrants came to America. We feel like the name is versatile to suit him whether he becomes president, a businessman, or a poet. We look forward to seeing who our little Callaghan will be and feel like his name is a unique element to him that we hope he will grow to love : ) Reply Share your thoughts on the name Callaghan Cancel ReplyYour email address will not be published.
