  1. I once took care of a patient with the name Emory and tucked it away in my brain and told no one for fear they’d steal it. I’ve always loved the fact that it was gender neutral and I didn’t know anyone with the name. When I was pregnant with my son, I met two more patients with Emory or Emery in their names, and they were both great kids. I was one hundred percent sold on the name, and my husband eventually got on board as well. When our son was born, the midwife who delivered him told us she actually graduated from Emory University. Such a fun coincidence. We call him Em or Ree-ree sometimes as nicknames. He calls himself Em-mee.
