  1. Harvey means battle-worthy. I found out I had marginal cord insertion with this pregnancy, and it used to be known as a “battledore placenta” due to its shape looking like a battledore racket ( battledore was a form of badminton).. That was the moment his name choice was solidified with us. The Lord has had his hand on our battle worthy boy every step of the way!

  2. My husband choose the name.loved it number 7 is symbolical to the bible. And my baby was born on a 7th coincidentally.

  3. I chose this name because it was on a can that looked cool then it was on a sigh then in a batman movie so I said it must be fait and here I am

  4. I first heard the name Harvey on Sabrina the teenage witch. My friend was having a baby (about a year and a half before I got pregnant) and my husband and I were helping to think of names for her, I mentioned Harvey and we liked it so much we decided to keep it for ourselves. I don’t like that everyone asks who he is named after, i get that its an older name but he isn’t named after anyone, we just think its cute!

    • I also hate that. I first came across the name when watching Suits and just loved it and knew that is what I wanted to name my son!

Now I am pregnant with another boy and have to actually look for a name

  5. We chose this name for a few reasons. The first being that was my husband’s grandfather’s middle name (several family members already had his first name but no one the middle). Second it is such a handsome old timey name that fits for both a child and an adult. Once we had chosen it I looked up the meaning and loved how strong it is. It also fits our last name well

  6. We were stuck with names (former childcare worker doesn’t help name selection!) and couldn’t find a nice name for our second – couldn’t sound like our first borns (Carter) and we wanted a grown up name! Harvey just sounded so smart and suited a baby and an adult so we went with that! We get nothing but compliments!
